ABC’s James Valentine visits CCK

“After raising $70,000 for Community Care Kitchen, a grassroots charity dedicated to eradicating food insecurity, James Valentine headed to Bankstown to check out their great work and give the group a hand in preparing hampers for people in need. ❤

In September, an ABC Radio Sydney campaign crowdsourced ideas from listeners for a T-shirt which summed up Sydney’s lockdown experience.

Founder of Mambo and Deus Ex Machina, Dare Jennings, and his designer Carby Tuckwell, turned the winning concepts into T-shirt designs which were then made available for sale online via Auburn-based shirt company Create Apparel. Sydney artists David Art Wales and Matthew Martin also donated designs to the campaign.

All profits are being used to fund Community Care Kitchen’s essential services in south-west and western Sydney, providing food relief to those areas hardest hit by lockdown.”
